A Dunkin' Donuts employee went viral after showing how donuts are prepared at her location and folks were shocked to find they had been frozen.
While freezing meals then reheating them is a common practice, there is a reason tons of other folks glance down on eating the stuff: this is because that no matter how many precautions one takes in ensuring that whatever they are packaging is thoroughly preserved, there is all the time a chance for moisture to set in.
That moisture, mixed with extraordinarily low temperatures, results in freezer burn, which sucks and will very much affect the flavor and high quality of the meals. And there are some foods that be afflicted by this a bit of more than others. You'll almost certainly tolerate drunkenly scarfing down dinosaur hen nuggets that experience a little bit of freezer burn.
But if you're paying for a baked just right at a retail chain with the name of stated baked good in its branding, then possibly you would want that baked good to not be frozen then reheated in your intake.
At least that is how numerous commenters felt when a viral TikTok demonstrated how Dunkin' Donuts workers prepare their donuts for the day.
And they aren't freshly baked.
Sophia Fischett (TikTok username @sophiafischett) recorded a "go to work" smash cut video that displays what a normal workday seems like for her and "accidentally" spilled the beans on the Dunkin' secret: its donuts are frozen.
The clip displays her taking a host of food items from out the freezer to position in the store's ovens ahead of she goes on to finish a bunch of different tasks.
But what people had been fixated on used to be the truth that the "Time to make the Donuts" mantra from again in the day most probably supposed, "time to defrost and heat the donuts," and folks weren't happy.
"The donuts are FROZEN?! My life has been a lie," one user stated. Another remarked, "Hold up, (you’re) telling me the donuts in the morning aren’t fresh made?"
Fischett defined that making them fresh in house would most probably be unattainable due to the high quantity of donuts that are being sold, to not mention that all the "reheating" procedure itself takes any place from Three to 5 hours.
And while there have been a lot of people who have been if truth be told distressed to learn that Sophia was taking donuts out of a freezer to reheat in an oven, there have been other people who weren't actually all that surprised.
One person penned, "The fact people actually think the donuts are made there. I find better donuts at the gas station tbh."
But other commenters stated that the mass freezing and reheating of donuts took place some years ago and that the baked goods used to make each and every single one among them fresh each day.
"My uncle owns several DD’s in the North. The donuts used to be made fresh everyday but that changed many years ago. Now they are made somewhere else."
So do you feel a little bit bit extra validated now whilst you swore that the donuts there just did not style the same anymore? Will this modification your thoughts about purchasing donuts from the coffee store massive? Or will you continue to consume them anyway?
