Though Freddie was engaged to a woman named Mary Austin in the '70s, he eventually instructed his bride-to-be that he was sexually attracted to men.  How did Freddie Mercury die?

The Queen frontman kicked the bucket on November 24, 1991, after struggling a complication from his AIDS prognosis. He was once only 45 years old at the time of his loss of life. Though Freddie was once reported to be an overly sexually exploitive individual, it's not publicly known exactly how he shrunk AIDS. 

Reports of his analysis to begin with started to surface in the mid-80s, but he saved his well being issues personal, handiest telling shut family and friends. On November 23, 1991, Freddie released a remark to the press, mentioning, "Following the enormous conjecture in the press over the last two weeks, I wish to confirm that I have been tested HIV positive and have AIDS. Please understand this policy will continue.”

The very next day, the singer succumbed to his illness, passing from bronchial pneumonia resulting from AIDS. 

Who replaced Freddie Mercury in Queen after his death?

Following the passing of the late great singer, the band Queen never officially replaced the artist. In 2005, former singer of the band Free and Bad Company, Paul Rodgers, started touring with Queen; however, band member Brian May stated on his website that Paul would be "featured with" Queen on tour and not replacing Freddie.

In 2012, Queen officially announced that American Idol runner-up, Adam Lambert, was named the new lead singer of the band. "The aim is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some f---king great songs. It’s to stay the track alive for the fans and give it an power that Freddie would have been happy with," Adam advised the DailyStar at the time. 

But let's face it, Freddie is irreplaceable.
