It's uncommon for showrunners to kill off a protagonist mid-season, despite the fact that it's been executed ahead of. 

The ingenious group at the back of The Magicians, The Wire, and House of Cards have all had to make a tough decision, getting rid of their respective major characters. 

Fans fear that the same fate awaits the FBI Agent at the middle of NBC's long-running thriller-mystery, The Blacklist. Are the rumors the rest to go by means of? Is Ressler leaving The Blacklist? 

So, is Donald Ressler leaving 'The Blacklist'?

Season 7 dealt some heavy blows to Ressler (Diego Klattenhoff). 

From the unexpected re-emergence of his brother, Robby (Anthony Michael Hall), to the resurrection of decades-old recordsdata detailing his involvement in a grisly homicide, Ressler needed to take on some unheard of demanding situations previously few episodes.

As the action-packed drama switches into full-gear in preparation for the Season 7 Finale, viewers are becoming increasingly fearful. What do the showrunners envision for Ressler? Could the following episodes mark his end on the display? 

According to CinemaBlend, the increasingly popular fan theory could be ungrounded. The showrunners have just introduced a storyline devoted to Ressler's family lifestyles — whilst they also allocated more room to chalk up new questions in regards to the strange romantic connection he has with rookie legal profiler Liz (Megan Boone). 

Both of these can be explored throughout a number of episodes, indicating that Ressler's time at the show is unlikely to come to an abrupt finish anytime soon.

Actor Diego Klattenhoff was psyched to characteristic in the episode, "Brothers."

"Brothers" is the first-ever The Blacklist episode dedicated to Ressler's life story. Instead of a new criminal case, it revolves across the previous events that have come to shape who he is and what he stands for, and the individuals who influenced him.

One of those other people is his brother, Robby, who made his first appearance on the display in this episode. Another one is Liz, whose dating with Ressel shall be explored in even larger element one day. 

“Years in the past, [government manufacturers Jon Bokenkamp and John Eisendrath] had mentioned my backstory and what made Ressler Ressler. They teased me with this great, juicy story," Diego told Yahoo. 

"And then that got cannibalized along the way in which, in Season 2 or 3. I was slightly dissatisfied that this truly excellent backstory — this very difficult, big, darkish secret — had disappeared… As an actor, it does still sit down with you and resonate," the actor added. 

Diego was ecstatic to discover that the creators decided to revisit the old plans for an episode detailing Ressler's background. 

"Among the team participants and probably the most manufacturers have been telling me, 'Man, we got the most productive episode [for you],'"Klattenhoff recalls. "And I’m like, 'What are you speaking about?' They mentioned, 'It’s all you and your brother, it’s loopy.'" Diego told Yahoo. 

"I was surprised no one had informed me and given me a heads-up [...] I was psyched.” the actor added.
