Maggie's Exit on 'The Walking Dead' Is Still Being Felt by Fans Everywhere

Why did Maggie leave 'The Walking Dead' in Season 9? Now that the show is dropping another OG forged member, fans are questioning if and when she’ll be back.

Maggie left The Walking Dead again in Season 9 before the massive time bounce. Even though it was once explained that Maggie had left Hilltop to assist Georgie construct other communities somewhere else, the fact that she was once long past with no proper sendoff never sat well with fans. And now that things are getting even more intense on The Walking Dead with the Whisperer War in full swing, some viewers are questioning why Maggie left The Walking Dead in the first place.

Lauren Cohan, the actress who plays Maggie, at the beginning left The Walking Dead over a mix of rumored salary disputes and the fact that she was once cast in the ABC collection Whiskey Cavalier, which was once canceled after just one season. Of path this left Lauren’s agenda huge open for a Walking Dead go back and it looks like fans will get to peer Maggie grace their screens once more within the near long term. 

But why did Maggie depart 'The Walking Dead'?

Maggie did not have a lot holding her at Hilltop after Rick disappeared and was once presumed to be useless. And as the leader of Hilltop, she was once able to defer her tasks to Jesus so she may pursue different things. In this example, different issues incorporated development other communities like Alexandria and Hilltop, which have managed to (mostly) thrive in the face of chaos and the post-apocalyptic global.

The good thing about Maggie’s exit, if there used to be any good that came from it at all, was once that it left the door large open for Lauren to waltz again into the arena of The Walking Dead at any time since she wasn't killed off. In real existence, Lauren was off running on the pilot season for the ABC collection, and on the AMC show, her personality used to be alive and well. Only she was once alive and well off-screen in other portions of the fictional society.

Maggie could be again before the end of Season 10.

After what seems like an entire life with out Maggie, one in all The Walking Dead’s OG characters, it was introduced at the 2019 New York Comic Con that Maggie will be back. At the time, Walking Dead fans everywhere breathed a collective sigh of relief. It's still no longer transparent on what capacity she is going to go back, but together with her being gone for so long at this level, even a multi-episode arc is higher than nothing.

"I think we always knew we were going to try to find this reentry," Lauren said on the Comic Con panel. "I'm just honestly really interested in what we're going to be able to say because we've had huge passages of time and there's so much life adventure that's been happening for Maggie." 

Because while everyone has been going on with their lives after the time soar, Maggie has been doing God is aware of what in every other part of the country.

Another longtime 'Walking Dead' solid member is leaving the display.

Maggie’s return to The Walking Dead would possibly come simply in time for her to look Michonne off. The show giveth and the show taketh away. Because yes, Michonne will be leaving The Walking Dead quickly, and while it's still unclear how she is going to depart or if it's going to be an open-ended sort of exit, it is impending. She could go away to try and find Rick since no person has really mentioned the possibility of him being alive for some time now.

Michonne may also come to a decision to lift her kids someplace that isn't continuously being invaded by walkers and Whisperers. And truthfully, are you able to truly blame her if that’s the case? Either means, irrespective of the loss that can be felt when Michonne leaves, at least Maggie will be again on The Walking Dead one day.
