The Jury Is Still out on Whether or Not Pretty Smart Will Get a Second Season

Netflix's first season of 'Pretty Smart' received some mixed evaluations, and fans of the display are wondering if a second season is in the works.

People love hating on sitcoms. The extra traditional the structure, the more ire they obtain. But regardless of the deluge of hatred in opposition to traditional sitcoms, their reputation persists. Take Pretty Smart on Netflix, for example. It's been called the furthest thing from "inventive," but it's relatively popular. But will there be a Season 2?

Will there be a Season 2 of 'Pretty Smart'?

One of the benefits of operating a streaming platform is instant audience feedback. The big shots know quite temporarily how many people are watching a program, how a lot it's rewatched, how binge-able it is, and when the hype behind a collection begins to fizzle out.

Netflix indisputably has a decision-making procedure for the presentations it makes a decision to stay or ditch in a jiffy.

Some of its top-rated IPs pull in ridiculously massive numbers, like The Witcher with Henry Cavill or Lupin. It used to be known relatively briefly with those techniques as to whether or not they'd earn additional seasons.

However, the media powerhouse once in a while takes a bit longer to announce if they will pour more cash into growing a whole new batch of episodes for one of its original displays.

This is the place Pretty Smart stands right now.

At the finish of the day, all that in reality matters are the numbers that a show pulls in. No amount of essential love will keep a show round. Take a take a look at Fuller House. The "continuation" of an oft-maligned sequence that was someway the hottest program in America at one time. It's controlled to clock five seasons on Netflix, despite early brutal reviews.

Will the same occur with Pretty Smart, which stars Hannah Montana actress Emily Osment? Well, that is yet to be determined. Netflix hasn't introduced whether or not the display will be renewed for a second season, and since the streamer doesn't unlock the numbers for its presentations to the public, it is difficult to grasp what their next play is.

If reviews from peak critics are any indication, it doesn't appear to be there will be a Season 2 of 'Pretty Smart.'

The Chicago Sun-Times described Pretty Smart as such: "It’s almost as if the showrunners are aiming for a satire of a sitcom — but there’s nothing about the plot points, the dialogue, or the acting styles to indicate that."

The assessment will get much more brutal: "Everyone on Pretty Smart is so chipper, it’s as if they’re in a cult. And with the exception of the book-smart Chelsea — who just might learn a thing or two about life before all is said and done — they’re all really, really dumb."

However, Netflix doesn't seem to be pretending that Pretty Smart is a paragon of writing or efficiency excellence, even joking about "the plot" points lovers revel in observing from the show. And that plot point is, of course, one of the characters, a personal instructor, strolling around without a shirt.

Despite the litany of damaging critiques the show has received, there do appear to be other folks who if truth be told revel in the display and wish to see a second season.
