Who is Lauren Ambrose’s husband? Meet director and creator Sam Handel.
Over two decades in the past, Lauren met her now-husband, Sam Handel, at a wrap birthday celebration in Los Angeles. The Servant actress was in her early 20s then, but that didn’t forestall the 2 from temporarily tying the knot.
Less than a 12 months after meeting, in September 2001, Lauren and Sam stated “I do” in Massachusetts, and have been together ever since. They celebrated 21 years of marriage within the fall of 2022.
The New Haven, Conn.–raised celebrity isn’t the only Hollywood giant shot in her marriage.
Boston native Sam quickly made a reputation for himself within the leisure industry. Best known for steering the quick movies The River, I’m Coming Over, and Camille (And Then There Was Me), the filmmaker and creator’s inventive repertoire is not anything to sneeze at.

In January 2007, Lauren and Sam welcomed their first kid, son Orson Handel, in New York City. Then, in 2012, their circle of relatives grew when their daughter used to be born.
After the actress took on the function of Dorothy Turner in the Apple TV Plus thriller collection Servant, she opened up about how she carried out her real-life experience with motherhood to her persona.
When talking with Shondaland in 2021, Lauren admitted that playing a guardian onscreen for the primary time was once emotionally taxing. “Every horror that might be able to occur to a mom, Dorothy reviews,” the actress explained. “We subtly revel in the foundation of that roughly vulnerability, simply by being a father or mother. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the SAG award winner determined to position her love of horror films to excellent use. Lauren and Sam created an impromptu film club with her son and daughter to introduce them to the classics of the style. They held screenings of the whole thing from The Shining to The Sixth Sense.
However, when requested if the actress would display her children a few of her older motion pictures corresponding to Can’t Hardly Wait, the actress joked, “Oh god, that should be a horror movie.”
