While there are tons of folks who have had negative experiences booking rooms/homes through Airbnb, there are many others who swear through the applying and feature by no means had an issue.

TikToker Sam Torres (@samsationalspam) used to be the latter buyer...till an interplay with an Airbnb host threw a family vacation she had planned for over a year become a highly disturbing scenario.

She says in a viral video speaking about the scenario: "I know that we're all boycotting Airbnb because they suck but I feel like I've always gotten lucky and I've never had a problem or an Airbnb horror story but f--- I have one now. I'm flying to New Orleans in three days to stay for an entire week with my parents who are flying from Michigan and my partner."

Sam adds that she has had this travel to New Orleans "planned for over a year" sooner than adding, "I contacted the Airbnb that we were gonna stay at over a year ago."

It wasn't just her foresight in pre-planning for this go back and forth that made her so surprised she had a destructive revel in with the app, however because she's hung out at this Airbnb previously: "I've stayed at this Airbnb before and they offered me 2 free night if I ever came back."

"So I was like great, let's save some money let's take them up on this, and I contacted them and I said hey, like, would you still honor this and they said yes absolutely just send us your dates and once we got dates figured out I said how do you want me to do this is there a coupon code I enter and she said no."

Sam said that the Airbnb host at the position she stayed at up to now steered her on the right way to pay for and reserve the valuables for her mass family vacation: "Just reserve your days and I will hold these other 2 days and block them off so no one can book them."

That turns out like a valid option to get the entirety carried out as she was still booking where through the Airbnb utility so she's introduced all of the protections and customer support options that Airbnb supplies in the event there is a topic with the booking. It's not like the valuables proprietor used to be asking her to Zelle her some cash or something.

Sam concept this was a really perfect solution and used to be on board with it, and that she did her due diligence in main as much as the go back and forth. "I confirm multiple more times with her hey these are the dates for coming are these ones blocked off as well? She says yes so I say great."

As you'll be able to almost certainly already are expecting, on the other hand, things weren't nice: "So now fast forward to today. I contact her this morning I say hey we're so excited uh to be coming in just a couple days can't wait to stay at your place again. And she says, what dates are you coming?"

That's unquestionably not the type of factor you want to listen to right as you are about to embark on an enormous family trip. "I tell her my dates. And she says something must be wrong because I only have you booked from the 11th to the 14th. Mind you we're staying till the 16th."

Sam says that even with her due diligence, there was still an error with the Airbnb host. "I start to panic. I'm like uh, no, it should be to the 16th here's our text conversation that we have like sending her screenshots of our conversation together and she goes I'm so sorry this is such a mess."

And then Sam heard the last thing she sought after to hear on the call: the host advised her that some other couple had booked where all through those two days she not noted to dam off and that she was going to have to name Airbnb to get it all straightened out: "And she's like I'm so sorry and I'm like what does that mean? Does that mean we can't stay there?"

Sam held out hope that she and her family may keep there for the ones two days, "We've had this planned for over a year you told us we could stay there and I'm so f------- stressed out because I can't afford to find another place it's French Quarterfest so there's gonna be thousands of people there."

Sam went directly to further give an explanation for why she planned the go back and forth up to now in advance - French Quarterfest would've made finding accommodations a nightmare: "There's no hotels, there's other Airbnbs that are so f------ expensive it's four people, because my parents are flying from Michigan and we're flying from Utah."

To make matters worse, she said that Airbnb principally stated that there wasn't the rest she may just do: "I'm stressed. Airbnb just called me and basically, they told me there's nothing that they can do because it was a deal between me and the host and I'm so stressed right now I feel like I'm gonna cry."

In a follow-up video, Sam mentioned that even though this used to be a host issue, Airbnb gave her a credit after talking with the host. Reps for the application said that the host never blocked off the "free" days Sam was meant to get. The TikToker mentioned that she in the beginning wasn't going to get anything else, however because her clip went viral, Airbnb more than likely did not want the negative consideration and decided to hook her up.

Replying to @needalittlefaith Airbnb did in the end finally end up reaching out and gave us a credit score against our subsequent stay. We will DEFINITELY be staying in a local resort next time we come right here. The airbnb industry in NOLA has been in reality toxic to the locals and has been destroying historic neighborhoods. #airbnbhorrorstory #airbnb #airbnbexperience #airbnbhostproblems #foryoupage #fypシ #neworleansairbnb #neworleans #nola #airbnbhorrorstories

TikTokers who noticed her clip spoke back that there were several techniques the host could've addressed the problem. The very first thing they might've completed was had Sam book the days via Airbnb so that they have been blocked off after which perform a price adjustment for the times.

Sam said she didn't even know this was an choice. Another individual stated that she could've simply canceled the opposite visitors' keep with out getting penalized from the app, but they speculated that the host didn't wish to give up the money to do this.

The TikToker and her family still controlled to get to NOLA on the family travel and he or she seemed a lot less wired in the second one video, which she presumably recorded from New Orleans.
